About this project

Ball Displacer is a minimal abstract scene: a white sphere with sculpted waves slowly rolling across it, as if the surface were breathing. The loop works well as a website background, an intro, a presentation element or an atmospheric insert in a video.

The project is free and made to be taken apart: the whole effect rests on one deformer and one shader, so within minutes you see how a plain sphere turns into a living organic form. The same technique carries straight into commercial 3D animation — on a logo, a product or an abstract background.

Seamless Loop Animation: A 20-second loop (600 frames): the waves on the sphere flow with no visible seam, so the clip can play endlessly.Displacer Deformer: The shape comes from a Displacer on a sphere inside a Subdivision Surface — no manual modelling and no keyframes on the geometry.Animated Noise Shader: Turbulence noise with a large scale, 40 cycles and a Loop Period of 20 creates the soft ribbons and loops the motion by itself. Change the seed, scale or cycles and you get a completely different shape.Dense Mesh for Clean Deformation: A Hexahedron-type sphere with 500 segments, smoothed by a Subdivision Surface, keeps the waves even, with no creases or artefacts.Redshift Studio Lighting: Three Area Lights and a tuned Redshift camera bring out the surface relief with soft shadows — the scene is ready to render.

What you can do with this project:

Open the scene to see how the Noise shader settings drive the shape directly: Global Scale sets the wave size, Cycles their number, and Loop Period keeps the cycle seamless. It is the shortest way to understand procedural deformation in Cinema 4D. Another free scene to take apart, Universe, is in the shop too.

Feel free to experiment: apply your own material, swap the sphere for text or a logo, change the animation speed, and use the result in your own and commercial projects.
